Last Week of Free & Easy at Allsorts

Good morning. Well it's Saturday so that means it's time for a brand new challenge at Allsorts - but it's not as we are still on our Free & Easy July theme but this is the last week to play Free & Easy.
As I said yesterday I think I'm addicted to making Christmas Cards and here's another one for the box - I really will be sorted this Christmas for sure :-)
This week we are sponsored by

and 1 lucky winner will receive a set of Aquamarkers

So here's what I used:

One of my most favourite House Mouse Christmas images coloured with PM's
I ran the Design Papers (MME - Merry Little Christmas) through the Grand Calibur with Creative Expressions tiny dots and large dots mask and then inked through the large dots mask with Versamark and embossed with Creative Expressions Glitter EP - it really is so sparkly IRL

A few teeny weeny snowflakes with adhesive pearls, some gorgeous stain ribbon and super sparkly ribbon (from local sugar craft shop) and a scrummy glittery button from stash to finish it off.
Here's a close up of the image:

Hope you can find some time to join us again this week.

We are going to see Cars2 in 3D later today - I remember when the first one came out - Jack got totally obsessed with it and we 'had' to trawl Portugal (we were on holiday) to find toy shops that sold the Cars characters so he could complete the set. He also had a 'Cars' themed party including taking 11 friends Go-Karting then two weeks later he was no longer into it!!!! Hope he stays interested in the film long enough to see the end :-)
Catch ya all later.
Have a fab day.

Shabby but with Sparkle

Good morning. Who stole the sunshine :-( Oh well I guess that means more time to craft and in cool comfort too :-)
Today I would like to share a card made with one of the new Christmas stamps from LOTV that I just had to have.
I think I'm addicted to making Christmas cards - a bit like eating Pringles - once you start you just can't stop lol!!!
I took my initial inspiration for this card from the Shabby with Sparkle challenge at Cupcake Crafts this week and here's what I came up with
 Here's what a used:
Image - Oh Christmas Tree - LOTV
coloured with PM's and for the Sparkle - lashings of Star Dust Stickles
Here's a close up of the image that I think has captured the sparkle

This also used:
Ribbon - East of India
Poinsettia - Marianne Dies and adhesive pearls from stash
Martha Stewart Doily border punch

I distressed all the edges with a Tim Holtz distressing tool and then inked with Old Paper to give it the  Shabby Chic look.
Challenges I would like to enter:

Cupcake Crafts - Shabby Sparkle
Craft Your Passion - Christmas in July
LOTV - Sketch
Craft us Crazy -Anything Goes
Stampin B's - Use Ribbon
Crafts & Me - Ribbon
Crafty Creations - Christmas
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Papercraft Star - Anything Goes

For those that wanted to see what I purchased from Hobbycraft yesterday - you will be shocked to know that all I came away with were a few beads and bits n bobs to have a go a some 'simple' jewellery making
And when I say 'simple' I really mean simple - here's my first bracelet :-)
I think it must be a sign when you trawl Hobbycraft looking for something that you haven't got or that you really need and end up coming away with nothing - what do you think????
Anyways here's to a happy crafty day to you all.
Thanks for popping by.

Brand Spanking New - at MAWTT

Good morning. Ive had a nightmare getting onto my blog this morning - not sure if it was a blogger problem or an internet problem but I'm here now :-) Well it's Thursday and that means a new challenge theme at
Thanks to everyone who entered last week we had some very cute and cuddly cards.
Don't forget to pop over to the main challenge blog to see if you were a winner or made the Top3

This week my lovely teamie Pami is hosting and she has chosen a theme of
'Brand Spanking New'
This could be a 'New Baby' a 'New Job' a 'New Home' - or you might think of something else.

This week we are sponsored by

and 1 lucky winner will win a £10 Voucher to spend in store.
There are lots of lovely new stock to choose from too.

Aaron & Kerry are moving (again) to a new home next month - they decided that maybe I was right and they would be better in a little house with a garden instead of a flat - but then Mum's are always right - aren't they???

So I decided to be mega organised and make them a 'New Home' card:
And here's what I did:
I started by die cutting the largest Grand Labels 1 and folded it in half to make my base card.
I matt and layered with some gorgeous shimmer cardstock from the DCVW Linen Closet range and also some co-ordinating Design Paper from the same range.
The image is from Digistamp Boutique - available here - coloured with PM's Edges of image inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
The scrummy seam binding is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - it really has a gorgeous sheen.
Flowers from local craft shop.
Sentiment was a freebie from craft magazine.
Challenges I would like to enter:
Digistamp Boutique - July Challenge
Simon Says Stamp - Shaped Cards
Freshly Brewed - Shaped Cards
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
