We've gone Oriental at Allsorts

Good morning. Well did we all watch the wedding yesterday? I was glued to the telly all day (from 8am - 4pm and then the highlights later in the evening!!!) and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. What a beautiful occasion and a beautiful couple who are so obviously in love.
Before I tell you about this week's challenege at Allsorts I thought I should let you know that we are having
very soon to celebrate are upcoming 2nd anniversary
Anyway onto this week's challenge at Allsorts and this week the lovely Amanda has picked
as the theme.
Now this is not a style I have ever done before and didn't really know what to do until I remembered that I have some fabulous Oriental Character Digi Stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique and they happen to be our regular last week of the month sponsor - so perfect!
I then decided that I would make a kimono shaped base card - using a template from the MCS Encyclopedia of templates.

The DP is from Nitwits - originally it was brown & cream but I changed the colour in MCS Professional to match the colour I had used for the image.
A few adhesive pearls and some Wild Orchid Craft Cherry Blossom flowers (colour changed using Dusty Concorde Distress Ink) and a Martha Stewart punched butterfly to finish it off.

This may not be totally traditional oriental - but I'm quite pleased with the result.
Hope you like it too.

Challenges I would like to enter are:

Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything Goes
Inspire me Fridays - Anything Goes
Just Add Ink - Add a Flower
Paper Cutz - Anything Goes
AiFactory - Anything Goes
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - Anything Goes
Sassy Studio Designs - Mononchromatic

Thanks for popping over.
John and Jack are taking me out today to shop for my birthday pressies for tomorrow - I'm still like a big kid when it comes to my birthday lol!!!
Have a wonderful day - whatever you are doing.

Image is from Pink Petticoat - Big Fella Kit and have 'coloured' it with PM's
The sentiment has been coloured with a Sakura gel pen
DP's - Summer Driggs - Dryer Lint at Tiffany's - printed onto white linen paper which gives it a fantatstic texture.
Scalloped edge base card and sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Good morning. It's Saturday (I think) it gets so confusing when there are Bank Holidays - don't you think?
Thanks to everyone that joined in Emma's sketch challenge at Allsorts last week - not as many as usual so I guess you have all been enjoying the lovely weather while you can - and so you should - who knows how long it will last so get it while you can!!! Do pop over and see who the lucky winner was and who made Emma's Top5.
This week we have the theme:

(hope that isn't tempting fate!!)
Here's my take on it:

Sometimes you just need to make a nice quick & easy card and this was one of those occasions and I used the fabulous Craft The Year Away CD from the Paprcraft Factory range at Funky Hand
The image is a Digi stamp from the CD (I could have used a pre-coloured one but that would have been a step too far on quick & easy lol!!!) so I 'coloured' it with PM's and paper-pieced the brolly.
The scrummy DP's are from the 'Come What May' range on the CD - aren't they gorgeous colours?
I even created the sentiment from the CD using the writer function and Impact Label.
Finishing touches:
Satin ribbon with chocolate box bow
Retro flower punch & gems from stash

Challenges I would like to enter are:
Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge - Recipe: 1 Digi image, 2 DP's, 3 Embellishents (flowers, ribbon & gems)

Have a fabulous day - hope the sun is shining where you are.
Thanks for popping over.

Anyway I did have a wee crafty session this morning - early - before everyone elso got up!
And here is my share for the day:
This is Katie's Easter Card - perfectly pink & girlie.
The adorable image is from Digi Stamp Boutique and they do have a boy version as well.
I have coloured her in with the usual PM's
This also used:
DP's - Pink Petticoat (I think from scrap box)
Martha Stewart Doily border punch
Flowers made from retro flower punch and the petals snipped into with scalloped scissors then inked with Spun Sugar distress ink and a teeny weeny button added to the centre
Ribbon from local cake shop
