All that Glistens

Good afternoon. Once again I find myself playing catch up in blogland - with no posts again this week since Saturday but this time it was because I found myself going to Portsmouth on Monday to help Katy (my eldest son's ex-girlfriend) move into her new flat - then onto London with her for the evening before returning home yesterday!!!
This morning was another session at the Pain Management Clinic so I just had to have a little play in my lovely new craft room this afternoon and I knew I wanted to make something for the
'Precious Metals' challenge at Moving Along With The Times this week.
When I moved all my crafty stash from the dining room into my new crafty haven I found lots of stuff I forgot I had (tut tut) and among it all were these gorgeous metallic flowers & leaves I got from QVC a long time ago.
I thought they would be perfect for the challenge.
Very difficult to photograph though lol!!!
I have teamed them with some gorgeous Kraft card that I embossed along the bottom half.
Ribbon & pearls from stash.

Hope to be back later with another crafty make.
Thanks for popping over.

For A Special Lady

Good morning. This week it's my turn to set the theme for the challenge over at Allsorts and as it is only 1 week until Mother's Day here in the Uk I thought it would be very apt to have
However, it really doesn't have to be a project just for Mother's Day - it could be anything for any special lady - young or old, Mother, Sister, Daughter - it would be great to know why they are special if it's not for Mother's Day though!
So I decided to go down the Mother's Day route and here's my share for you

I have used the super cuteteddy with Bouquet- coloured with PM's
The DP I bought in my local craft shop last year and never got round to using it and when moving all my stuff into my new craft room I found it lol!!!
The flowers have been punched and layered and finished with a self adhesive pearl gem.
Sentiment are self adhesive mini alphas.
Border Punch - Martha Stewart Scroll Lace

Challenges I would like to enter are:
LOTV - Punch it Out (Border Punch & Flowers)
Craft Your Days Away - Mother's Day
Papertake Weekly - It's a Mom Thing

Hope you have a fabulous day - and here's to another bright, warm and sunny day.
Thanks for popping over.
Please check put the other fabulous DT inspiration.

Teatime Treat

Good evening. Thought it would be nice to share the first card I have made in my new craft room (photos of room to follow).
As it happens I had an order from a friend for a 'cupcake' themed card and I knew this gorgeous LOTV image would be perfect and I had a tiny little piece of the cupcake DP left over from a previous make - just enough to fit the sketch at LOTV this week.
Image coloured with Distress Inks and Aquamrkers.
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Silk ribbon & pearl brad from stash
Sentiment - Craftwork cards - coloured with Distress Ink

So here's what the new craft room looks like:

I'm so lucky and so happy :-)

Thanks for popping over.

A Gorgeous Colour Combo

Good morning. I can hardly believe that a fortnight has past since our last challenge at An Oldie but a Goodie - where do the weeks go???
This fortnight the lovely Liza has given us a photo to use as your inspiration for the colours of your projects
Here's my take on it:

As always you must use a stamp (no Digi images allowed) that is at least 6 months old.
I have used a very neglected Hero Arts flower image.
I started by creating a background to stamp the image onto - using Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks and some Pearl Glimmer Mist and then adding Brushed Corduroy around the edge. I stamped the flower image direct onto this piece of card using Brushed Corduroy and then again onto another piece of card to colour with the Spun Sugar & Tumbled Glass and then cut it out and layered it in top.
This was then mat & layered onto a co-ordinating piece of Kraft card and then onto the basecard.
Finishing touches - Martha Stewart punched butterflies, some scrummy sheer organza ribbon with a small Wild Orchid rosehead flower and a few flat backed pearls.
Sentiment - Whimsey Stamps from the ticket selection.

Hope you can join us this fortnight.
Please pop over and take a look at the other DT gorgoeus inspiration.
Thanks for dropping in.
Have a lovely day.

Zing into Spring at Get Funky

Good morning - it's my turn to share with you my card for Lou's Zing Into Spring challenge at Get Funky this  month.
I have used the gorgeous Freebie DP that Anice is offering this month - go grab yours from here - it's perfect for this challenge!
I also used some co-ordinating DP's from the 'Marching On' range on the Craft the Year Away Papercraft CD rom - available here to create my concertina flower and punched butterflies.
The fab 'tape' sentiment has also been done using the Craft the Year Away CD.

To create the flower I used a strip of Design Paper - 29cm x 3cm and score at 1cm intervals all along the length. Then mountain and valley fold (concertina fold) and secure the ends together to form a circle. Put a small 'blob' of glue where you would like to adhere your flower and 'squish'the circle down onto the glue. I added a 1" punched circle with a co-ordinating button to the centre to finish it off.
A touch of Diamond Stickles has been added to bring it to life and that's it done!
Hope you can join in the funky fun with us - you have until 14th April so still lots if time.
Thanks for popping by.
Have a great day.

Show us Your Ribbons

Good morning. What a beautiful day we had yesterday - a lovely walk with Aaron & Kerry, Jamie and his new girlfriend Rowena and Jack & John followed by a family lunch at a local carvery and then all back to my house for afternoon tea - just perfect! And the weather was glorious too - what a bonus lol!!!
Anyways today sees a new challenge theme for us at Lexi's Creations and this fortnight we would like to see you do something with ribbons - other than a knot or a bow!
I have gone with ruching mine and adding a thinner co-ordinating ribbon on top.

The image is from Fairy Dust Crafts - coloured with PM's
This also used:
DP's - freebie from Craftwork Cards with Craft Mag.
Martha Stewart border punch
Spellbinders Lacey Circles
Flat back Pearls from Hobbycraft
Sentiment - Creative Expressions

We are sponsored by Whiff of Joy this fortnight and it would begreat if you could join us.
I can't wait to see your wonderful projects.

No update on craft room progress to share just yet - Jordan wasn't able to start the flooring on Saturday but hopes tp get it done today - fingers crossed - I'm now itching to get my screwdrivers etc out an assemble my new Ikea furniture lol!!! I hope to have photos to share later -watch this space!
Hope you all have a fabulous day.

A Trio of Boxes

Good morning. Today sees a new challenge over at Allsorts and thus week the lovley Helene would like to see you make
As some of you know already I am going to be a Gramdma next month and again the month after so I decided toi make a trio of boxes for my Grand-daughter to be for her 'First Tooth' 'First Curl' and 'Birth Tag'

I started with some paper-mache boxes I bought in the sale at Hobbycrfat for 49p each! I painted them with pearly pink paint and then covered with some lovely text paper from the Nana's Nursery For a Girl set of papers.
I added some scrummy sheer dotty organza ribbon and some bakers twine around the edge of the lid.
I printed the 'sentiments' on the PC and die cut with a Spellbinders tag die, adding a touch of Spun Sugar Distress Ink to the edges and a tiny button with some more bakers twine.
A few Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and some pearly pink hearts to finish them off.

I would also like to share some of the reasons I have not been so active on my blog recently.
The main reason being I have just started on my Pain Management Programme (for my back problems) and this is currently on twice a week for 3 hours each session - and when I do get back from it I am feeling quite tired - not used to doing so much lately lol!!! I have been to 3 sessions so far and I am keeping an open mind - I do think that some of the strategies will be useful in the long term.
Another reason for not being so active is that I have been having some redecorating done - Aaron's & Kerry's old rooms - one of which will be my dedicated craft room - I am so excited about this.
Here's what it looks like so far:

Tomorrow my nephew will be laying the wooden floor and then we will be able to put together this little lot from Ikea:

The other room will be for Jack's den and this is how that looks so far:

Again the floor should be done this weekend and the sofa bed is on order so it shouldn't be too long before it's finished.
The next mammoth task will be sorting through my stash and re-organising it all!!!
Hope to get back into the swing of blogging and catching up with you all very soon.

Thanks for popping over.
Have a fab weekend.

Happy Hoppy Bunny

Good afternoon. It's been lovely here in Gloucestershire today but a little bit chilly! It's all back to normal(ish) here this week with John 's birthday celebrations all done and he is back from his work travels - thank goodness the trip to Japan at the weekend has been officially cancelled - although I had already officially cancelled it anyway!!!
Today I have been having a look around at some of the current challenges and decided to use the fab sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches and the colour theme at Papertake Weekly .for my share today.

I have used some scrummy scraps from my overloaded scrap box - I think they are from Nana's Nursery - the striped one and Daisy & Dandelion the daisy one.
Image is a freebie from Craft Mag last year - my good friend Claire inspired me to use this old but super cute image.
I have subtely coloured it with Letraset Aquamarkers. I added a touch of Dusty Concorde distress ink around the edges.
The sentiment strip is from Pink Petticoat.
This also used:
Martha Stewart Butterfly Border Punch
Wild Orchid Daisies with tiny brad added to centre.
A few adhesive pearls from Hobbycraft

Hope you have had a wonderful day.
Thanks for popping over.

Luck of the Irish

Good morning. Well it seems like ages since I last posted but the week has gone so quickly. John has been away all week and eventually arrived home safely last night. He is supposed to be going to Japan next weekend but I really don't want him to go.
Anyways it is Saturday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts and this week the lovely Amanda wants to see your projects for:
I have used a gorgeous free Shamrock image from Waltzing Mouse Stamps
coloured with PM's

The background has been created by stamping my all time favourite swirl in opposite corners and then embossing with Pearl Lustre EP.
This also used:
Papermania Cardstock Stickers
Adhesive Black Pearls
Swiss Dots Cardstock

Challenges I would like to enter are:
Card Makin Mama's - Something Green
Delicious Doodles - Green for St Patrick
Fairy Knoll - St Patrick's Day
Fashionista Friday - St Patrick's Day

Such a Cute Chick

Good afternoon (again!!). Well I seem to have sorted the photo space problems I was having by purchasing an extra 20GB google storage - which only cost about £3.50 ($5.75) and that should let me upload approx. 10,000 photos - do you think I'll have enough space now lol!!!!
So here's the first of that 10,000 and it's my very very very kate DT card for Lexi's Creations where the theme this fortnight is
I have used the really cute Easter Egg Lillie image from Fairydust Crafts  - she looks so sweet don't you think?
Image coloured with PM's.
DP's - Pink Petticoat Gingham
Martha Stewart border punch
Sentiment - Magazine freebie
I also had another go at making some spiral roses

Thanks again for popping by.
