New Beginnings at Allsorts

Good morning peeps. Well where did the last fortnight disappear to so quickly???
Come to think of it - it only seems like yesterday we were getting ready to celebrate 2011 and now here we are on another New Years' Eve - could it be because I'm getting older that time seems to be disappearing quicker than ever?????

Anyways it is Saturday so that means it's time for a new challenge over at

and our very lovely Emma has picked the theme

I decided to use a
NEW STAMP and create a NEW CALENDAR for the NEW YEAR :o)

I'm loving these images from Sugar Nellie - coloured with PM's and Flexmarkers.
I thought the image would be good for a calendar as on the 1st of each month a new wish could be granted!!
The gorgeous Design Papers (K&Co Poppy Seeds) are also new - a Christmas pressie from Aaron & Kerry :o) - I love this colour combo - could be a new favourite lol!!!

Our sponsor this week is the lovely Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique

and 1 lucky winner picked at random will win 6 images of their choice - and with so many fabulous images available you really will be spoilt for choice :o)
Please pop over to the main challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT's gorgeous inspiration - you won't be disappointed :o)

Challenges I would like to enter:

4 Crafty Chicks - Something New
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes

See you tomorrow with a new project as Guest Designer for another fabulous challenge blog :o)

Lots of love.

Step Back In Time - Groovy Baby!

Good morning blogland :o) Wow it seems ages since I last posted but it has been lovely to have a break and spend some time with the family over the festive period - I even got to 'see' and speak to Lola and Katy on Christmas Day - even though they were in Padstow and we were in Stonehouse - it was all by the magic of  'FaceTime' on John's iPhone - how crazy is that???!!!
We had a wonderful Christmas - it was like Santa's Grotto on my lounge on Christmas Day - so many gorgeous gifts!

Anyway today we have a new challenge for you over at

and this challenge will run for two weeks to give the DT a little more time to enjoy the New Year celebrations and hopefully have some playtime with new Christmas crafty stash :o)

Luckily I had this prepared before the festivities started and it was sooooooo easy to put together.
The DT got to choose a kit from this fortnight's sponsor

and our theme this week is

(Music/Retro related)
To make it even easier for us the images were all pre-coloured as well - what a bonus when you need to make a card in a hurry!

I had a 'happy accident' when I printed the Design Paper and the word art sentiment over the top - but I liked the way it turned out so decided to stick with it :o)
Sweet Sixteen sentiment - PC generated and then coloured over with co-ordinating Promarker
Crocheted flower from stash with English Rose - Marianne Createable added to centre.
A few adhesive pearls from stash and that was as easy as that.

We also have a brand new playmate - Sandra and it would be great if you could pop over and give her a warm welcome.

Hope you can find some time between now and 12 Jan 2012 to join in the fun with us.
Thanks for popping by.
Have a fabulous day.

Get Funky Thanks

Hello I'm back again with my second DT project for today  (my first post can be seen here) - and this time it's for

Our theme this month is

I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to make a set of 'Thank You' notelets with a matching gift box as a wee stocking filler for my MiL.
There are so many gorgeous paper collections available at Funky Hand that you could be really spoilt for choice. I decided to use a perfectly co-ordinated pair of Stripes and Spots papers from
Dreams Come True Papercraft CD - from the 'Award Winning' Collection. I think the colours in this collection could be used for male or female recipients.

I started by printing the 'Thank You' sentiment direct onto the cardstock - using an A6 card template
I created in Microsoft Word
Then simply matt and layered a strip of Spotty and Stripey DP onto a co-ordinating piece of cardstock with a punched edge - using Martha Stewart Doily Border Punch
I also made a matching Gift Box to keep them in :o)
They really were so simple and quick to complete that I think I may even get a couple more sets put together before the weekend :o)
It would be great if you could join in the fun with us this month - Anice has created another fabulous  Funky 15th Freebie for you - available here that would be just perfect for this theme - you have until
14th Jan 2012 to get your entries in - so plenty of time :o)

Challenges I would like to enter:

Everybody Art - Anything Goes
Try it on Tuesday - Anything Goes
I Did it Creations - Thank You
Daring Card Makers - Spots and Stripes
Fairy Tale - Gift/Gift Packaging

Before I go here are a couple more photos from last weekend of Lola:
