Just a Touch of Red

Good morning. Hurrah it's Saturday and this one is a very special one for me as those of you that read my post yesterday will remember today is the day that some of my cards could be appearing on Create & Craft on the Funky Hand show at 11am - I have my Sky+ set (both upstairs & down lol!!!!).
Anyways enough of that and onto the real reason for the post - to tell you about the new challenge over at Allsorts this week, as chosen by the lovely Brenda - GOLD & CREAM with a Hint of RED
Here's my take on it:
I really enjoyed making this one and here's what I did:
I started by die cutting a snowflake shape with MM Slice machine and used this as mask when lightly inking the background on the base card with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.
The snowflake border is a Martha Stewart punch - punched from plain card stock and then I lightly inked it with Brilliance Gold and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Gold Sparkle EP and added a few red adhesive gems.
The Christmas Tree image is from Creative Expressions - one of my favourite tree images and has been stamped with Versamark and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Gold EP and then the edges have been distressed with Victorian Velvet DI.
A few punched snowflakes with a red adhesive gem and a touch of red satin ribbon and that's it completed.

Challenges I would like to enter:
Crafty Pad - Christmas
Craft Your Passion -  Add Glitter, Sparkles
A Spoonful Of Sugar - Die cuts or punches
Creative Card Crew - Punches
Paper Take Weekly - Sparkly and Bright
Fab 'n' Funky - Clean and Simple
Simon Says Stamp - Punches or die cuts
Stampavie and More - Christmas
Totally Papercrafts - Bling it On

Hope you can join in the fun with us this week. Don't forget to pop over to Allsorts and take a look at the rest of the scrummy inspiration from the talented DT.

Whilst blog-hopping yesterday I came across this post
and it would be great if you could take a look and see if you too could send a card to Daniel.

Hope you have a wonderfiul weekend.
Thanks for popping by.

I Think I've Found My Mojo!!

Good afternoon. I have a couple of cards to share with you that I feel quite happy with how they have turned out!
The first is for the Winter Fun challenge at LOTV this week.
The background was created by stamping a 'text' star image randomly over the base card and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer  Aurora Sparkle EP - it really is sparkly IRL! The edges have been inked with Dusty Concorde distress ink.
The DP is Bo Bunny.
Image - James with Presents coloured with PM's and a touch of Glamour Dust
A few adhesive gems and that's it done!

My next card is for a good friend that is going through a tough time at the moment - just to say 'Believe' and things will get better.

I have used my new Tilda with star image - I love it! Coloured with PM's and a touch of Stardust Stickles.
DP's are Pink Petticoat - Think Pink Kit
I tried a bit of faux stitching round the edges - using a Sakura Glitter Pen.
A few adhesive pearls and that's that one done.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Just Magnolia - Think Pink
Totally Tilda - Pink & Pearls
Totally Gorjuss - Sparkle
Thanks for popping over.

A Halloween Cutie???!!!

Good morning. Brrrrrrrr it's freezing this morning here in Gloucestershire - but the sun is shining so that makes it ok lol!!!
Today I would like to share my 'cutie' Halloween card with you.

Image is adorable Penny Black 4020K - Frightful Flight. I got this stamp as I thought it would be useful for more than just Halloween as you can just 'cover' the Halloween balloon with a normal one for another occasion!!! Image has been coloured with PM's.
 This also used:
DP's - Text DP - Fab Spooky Dookie download from Funky Hand - available here (Don't forget that there is still time to enter this month's Get Funky challenge - see details on my sidebar)

I would also like to apologise for not being round in blogland much last week.
To cut what could be a very long story short the Specialist I saw privately as recommended by my Dr. in order to speed the process up, no longer does work on the NHS so I have now got to start the process all over again and therefore I won't be having my Discogram done this week as I have to see another Consultant first and he can't see me until Friday!! So everything I have done and all the money my DH has spent so far has been a complete waste of time - 6 weeks and £500 spent and we are no further on!!!
So last week I was very upset and didn't feel much like doing anything.
However, this week is a different week and I am feeling so much better so I will do my best to pop in and see you all soon.
Thanks for all your support - it really does mean a lot.
Have a wonderful day.

Autumn Leaves

Good morning. I am still not back at work and next week I am going to hospital to have the next stage of investigation into my back problem - a discogram - a procedure that I am not really looking forward to but if it can help confirm what the specialist thinks is the cause of all my pain and therefore help with the decision of the treatment then I shall just have to grin and bear it!!!
In order to help take my mind off it all I have been trying to keep busy doing some crafting but to be totally honest I am really struggling to get motivated and and my mojo has just disappeared!!
I am trying to focus on making some Christmas Pressies and this is one that I started on Monday and have just finished it this morning.

Penny Black - Take 2

Good morning.  I would like to share my card I have made for this week's challenge at
Penny Black - Use 2 or more Penny Black images.
Yesterday my new PB stamps arrived in the post - they were free with a craft magazine subscription - how cool is that!!!! So I thought they would be perfect for this week's Penny Black challenge.

I had a go at making a framed card - I got my inspiration for this over on the totally talented Debby's blog here
I am quite pleased with the result and I am sure I will have another go at one of these and it will be better next time lol!!!

I created the backgroud image using the resist technique for stamping the scrummy Snow Dust image - stamped with Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Lapis Pearl then distressed with Peeled Paint & Barn Door Distress Inks. The cute little hedgie was then stamped direct onto the bottom right corner and I stamped him again onto another piece of cardstock - coloured him with PM's - cut him out and layered him onto the first stamped image.
I also embossed the edges of the panel using a Versamark Pen and the Lapis Pearl EP.
Here's a closer look at that:

This also used:
Marianne Creatables - Small Poinsietta - die cut from pieces of cardstock coloured with the same Distress Inks
Snowflake Punch
Adhesive Pearls from stash
Alphabits - from Funky Hand - available here (they fit perectly in a 1/2" circle punch)

Thanks for popping over.
Have a wonderful day.
