Allsorts - Week 41 'Something for Mum'

Good morning. Thank you for all the wonderful entries to Jules'  'ticket, tag or label'  challenge - don't forget to check the Allsorts blog to see who won and who Jules picked as her Top5.
This week Emma challenges you to make something for your mum or someone who is like a mum to you.
We have another new sponsor in 'My Favourite Things' and the DT were lucky to get to choose from some wonderful images - they also do some gorgeous digital papers as well. I have used some of the lovely Spring gingham papers. I decided to make a recipe book - the inside 'pages' are made frem envelopes - ready to slot in some favourite recipes.
Well, I should be on my way to Cardiff as you are reading this to do my Creative Expressions demo day.
Hope you have a lovely day - catch ya later.
Thanks for popping over.

One I really enjoyed making

Good evening, Just a quick post to show another sample card I have made for the demo I am doing tomorrow.
I loved making this one.
I started by painting the cuttlebug script embossing forlder with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paint in Violet Frost and then embossed a piece of white cardstock. I distressed the edges and then inked them with Dusty Concorde distress ink. The base card has been spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer mica powder in Lilac Dawn. The butterflies have been stamped onto heat resistant acetate with Archival Black ink and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Lapis Pearl Lustre embossing powder and then subtley glittered with Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles. The sentiment tag has been inked with Dusty Concorde.
Looking forward to making another one of these tomorrow lol!!!
Hope you have had a lovley day.
Thanks for popping over.

Monochromatic Lilac

Good evening. This is my entry for a new challenge blog I recently found whilst blog hopping -
Just Cute Bears. I also dug out this cute little character that was a freebie with a craft magazine last year. The theme at Just Cute Bears this week is the colour 'lilac'. This also fits the new challenge launched today at Creative Inspirations of 'monochrome' - definitely not late for this one lol!!! And finally, I have used the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp this week.
Thanks for popping over.

A Few Samples (and a challenge of course lol!!!)

Good morning. Just wanted to share a few cards I made yesterday - mainly for fun but the first one does fit the challenge theme over at Creative Inspirations but I think I may be too late with it!

The stamps are from the Create a Scene - Church stamp set by Creative Expressions - stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and brushed out in places with a water brush.

For this card I dabbed some Cosmic Shimmer water colour paints onto a non-stick craft sheet and spritzed it with water then pressed a piece of white card stock over it to pick up the colour and create quite a dramatic background to stamp the tree image onto - I stamped the image in Archival Black and then heat embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer Pearl Lustre.

For this last card I have used balck card stock and Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Mica Pigments - stamping the images with Perfect Medium and then dusting the Mica Powder over the image.
The wagtch image has been stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine embossing powder.

These are a few samples I have made for a Demo I am doing on Saturday.
Well, got to get ready for work now.
Thanks for popping by.
Have a lovely day.

Something for Mum

Good morning. Before I show my project to you I would just like to say a big thank you to Kath for the wonderful inspiration. I saw that Kath had made a plaque like this at her demo she had recently - I wish I had been there in person - I saw it on Kath's blog and I knew straight away that I wanted to make one too.
So this is my entry for the Penny Black challenge this week - Pink, Green & Yellow
although my yellow looks more cream/lemon - so hope this counts!!!

I started by cutting the basic shapes from a cereal packet using my Nestie Labels and then spritzed them with Cosmic Shimmer Misters - Mallow Blush & Golden Mint and then used Distress Inks over the top and round the edges. The reverse has been covered with the plaid DP in Pink, Green & Lemon from the BG Sugar Rush collection. I stamped the Penny Black 3865K Gossamer flower stamp onto the Lemon & Green spotty DP from the BG Sugar Rush collection - embossed with clear and then cut out. The letters are Papermania cardstock stickers.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
SCSC - 'Mother'
OSCC - 'Wall Hanging'
ASFOS- 'Spring Time'

Thanks for popping over.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Flowers have been punched and layered and finished with my new Card Candy - got some at last lol!!! A couple of Fancy Pants buttons, a few adhesive pearls and that's it finished.
Thanks for popping over.
Enjoy your weekend.

Allsorts - week 40

Good morning. It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts. Thank you to everyone that took on my recipe challenge last week - we had so many gorgeous entries that I really struggled to just pick 5 as my favourite - you can find out who I did choose by popping over to the Allsorts blog.
Anyway this week Jules has set the theme and would like to see a TAG, TICKET or LABEL somewhere on your project. We also have a new sponsor this week - Digital Ink Co and they are giving the lucky winner, picked by the cahnce to purchase 3 stamps of their choice from a wonderful selection they have in store.
The DT were very lucky to have been given a different image each to work with and my image is called 'Candy Love' - so I thought it was apt to, make a little treat holder to put a chocolate heart lollipop that I gave to Jack for Valentine's.

I coloured this little sweetie with Copics, cut her out and attached her to the front of the treat holder, made from an 8x8 piece of Doodlebug Inc. spotty DP. The tag was cut using the Slice from another piece of dotty paper. The ribbon and gem were from my stash. Lettering is Papermania cardstock stickers.
Have a lovely weekend.
Thanks for popping over.

I would also like to thank my blogging DT buddy Emma for the sentiment ticket - I coloured it with distress inks.

Miss Anya has Flower Power

Good morning. Off to a quick start this morning. This is my entry for the 'Flower Power' challenge over at Anyone for Anya this week. It also fits the 'Ribbon' challnege at The Pink Elephant and I thought it would fit the challenge at Fussy & Fancy this week where they want you to 'Dazzle' them. I don't know about you but I think Miss Anya is very cute so I would also like to enter her into the Stamp Something cute challenge.

Hope you have a lovely day.

Might be back later lol!!!

Keeping it Simple

Good evening. This is my entry for the 'keep it simple' challenge at Cupcake Craft this week.
I really enjoyed creating this card. I started by spritzing a 12cm x 12cm piece of white card stock with Lilac Dawn & Khaki Green Cosmic Shimmer mica pigments to create a background mat. The image is Hero Arts CG127 Flower Box that I stamped with Versafine black and then coloured with Cosmic Shimmer Blueberry Lilac glitter and Art Glitter green glitter from the Poinsettia Medallions set. I stamped the Hero Art Butterfly CG130 onto white card and acetate then coloured both with the same glitters, cut them out, the card one I popped up with 3D foam squares and layered the acetate one on top - just gluing the body.
This was mounted onto the Cosmic Shimmer mica background and then mat & layered onto matching coloured card stock.
So there you have it - kept simple - no design papers, embellishments, flowers, ribbon but loads of fun to do!
Hope you have had a lovely day.
Thanks for popping over.

You Caught My Heart

Good afternoon. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far.

I had real fun making this card today. Not a DP in sight - I started by colourising a piece of white cardstock with the direct to paper technique - using two different shades of red inks and then overstamped this with Creative Expressions text backgroung stamp in black ink. The top half of the card I used another Creative Expressions background stamp - Crackle Effect stamped with Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Red EP. The bottom half of the card is a piece of red cardstock that has been run through the Bigshot with the Hearts embossing folder and then sanded to reveal the centre core. The cute Penny Black image has been coloured with Copics. The sentiment is Papermania cardstock stickers. I didn't have a red heart shaped button so I coloured a pink one with my Poppy PM.

I have made this for my hubby for Valentine's as his latest hobby is fishing - he's gone fishing this morning whilst I was making this!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

  1. Penny Black Saturday - Happy Valentine's
  2. ASFOS - Recipe
  3. Cupcake Craft - Red & White

Thanks for popping over.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Allsorts - Recipe Challenge 3,2,1 you decide

Good morning - well it's Saturday and that means another challenge over at Allsorts This week it's my turn to pick the theme and I give you a recipe challenge - but with a difference - it's 3,2,1 you decide. So you could have 3 of one thing, 2 of another and 1 of something else - you decide.

I went for 3 flowers, 2 hearts and 1 ribbon. The image is from Digistamp Boutique - and they are our regular monthly sponsor this week - the winner gets to pick a download of their choice.

Can't wait to see your wonderful creations.

Thanks for popping by.

Have a great weekend.

It's all about Love

Good evening. I have two projects I would like to share with you this evening. The first is for the Penny Black challenge with the theme 'Pins & Pearls'.

I stamped the image onto acetate and then on the reverse side coloured with Alcohol Inks - Red Pepper & Lettuce. I attached this to a piece of white cardstock - using brads and then mat & layered onto some Fancy Pants DP and some red cardstock that had been run through the Bigshot using script embossing folder. The 'sentiment' is Loopy Love cardstock stickers.
I would also like to enter this into the 'Love' challenge at By The Cute & Girly this month as well as my other project - a heart shaped mini album (I have yet to add the photos).
Thanks for popping over.
Enjoy the rest of the evening.
