C.R.A.F.T Challenge & A.B.C

Good morning. In true 'Blue Peter' style - here's one I made earlier (only yesterday though lol!!!) that was originally for this week's C.R.A.F.T challenge of 'no backing papers' - however, I have just seen the challenge for this week over on the ABC blog is 'E' for embossing - either dry or heat and as my project fits that as well it would be rude not to enter it into that too!

Have a great day.
Thanks for popping over.

3 in 1 Challenge Card

Good afternoon.

This is my second make of the day - however I can't show you the first one just yet - but watch this space lol!!

I am entering this project into 3 challenges this week:

  1. Saturday Sketch - A Sketch (of course!!!)
  2. Pollycraft - at least 2 out of 5 'S' words:

SNOWFLAKES - on my DP & 3 across the top

SPARKLE - added glitter stripe & gemstones in centre of snowflakes

SPOTS - on snowman's scarf & added to pressie

STRIPES - DP across top of card & on Charlotte's scarf

Phew!!!! that was a challenge in itself - to use all five 'S' words lol!!!!

3. Cooking it Up with Katie - A new challenge blog and the first challenge was a recipe:

1 image

2 shapes - I have squares & rectangles

3 paper embellishments - my snowflakes are paper ones

Well that's all for now - hope to be back later.

Have a great afternoon.

Thanks for popping over.

Friday Sketchers

I loved this sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week and thought I would pluck up the 'courage' to cut into some scrummy new DP (The PaperCompany) I bought last week lol!!! What you can't tell from the photo is how 'strokeable' these papers really are!!!

The image is one of my favourite 'Gorjuss Girl' and as she is the 'Flower Girl' I thought it only fitting to add a bunch of Petaloos and a sentiment that says it all.

Hope you are having a lovely day.

Thanks for popping by.

Love to read all your comments.

A bit of Spiced Marmalade

Today I have discovered that I love the 'Spiced Marmalade' distress ink colour!!!! I was just playing around with some colours and I chose this one to compliment some lovely Basic Grey DP's and my new Penny Black 'Fireworks' stamp. I have followed the sketch over at A Spoonful of Sugar this week and this is what I have come up with:
I really enjoyed making this card today - hope you like it too!!!

What a Result!!!!

Good evening everyone.
Well I did it!!! (My first official proper workshop/demonstration) and have survived to tell the tale lol!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting 10 lovely crafty ladies today and sharing my little bit of knowledge and bags of enthusiasm & encouragement with them to help them create 2 fantastic projects using distress inks & Cosmic Shimmer misters.
Here are some great photos that I think truly capture the moment they felt suitable proud of themselves:

I have had a fantastic day but I am sooooooooooooo tired now but feeling really happy that I have helped some people enjoy themselves & discover some hidden talent!!!

Hope you have had a great day too!

Thanks for popping over.

Wish me Luck!!

Good afternoon and welcome to my second post of the day!!!
I wasn't really going to share this with you all, but I'm now getting soooooooooooo excited I can't keep it all to myself any longer!!!!!
On Thursday of this week I am going to be doing my first 'proper' workshop & demonstration at a Craft Centre in Taunton - how nerve wrecking is that???!!!!
I have already posted a sample of one of the cards they want me to demonstrate - here it is again:

They want me to demonstrate another card so I have used the same stamp plate and similar colour scheme and have come up with this sample:

As this one fits the theme over at the Crafty Pad this week - at least 1 circle & the colour purple, I thought I would enter it into the challenge.

For the second card I stamped the image onto a circle (cut using a nestie) with Perfect Medium clear and embossed it with Silver Shine embossing powder. I then inked the edges with Dusty Concorde distress ink and mounted it onto a black scalloped circle - again cut using a nestie.

The swirl was also stamped with Perfect Medium clear and embossed with Silver Shine onto some purple pearl card and matted onto black card before being attached to a 6" x 6" white square base card.

The sentiment was stamped & embossed as before onto black cardstock and then trimmed and attached to the top left corner with 3D foam pads.

Well, off to have another practice at making both these again - as you know what they say 'practice makes perfect' lol!!!!!

Catch ya later!

Thanks for popping by.

Freebie Bear Stamps

Good morning.

How cute are these freebie stamps from this month's issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine!!!

I have used them to create a couple of cards for the challenge over at One Stop Craft challenge blog where the theme this week is 'Beary Nice' - perfect!!!

Images have been coloured with Copics - kept to traditional red & green, with a touch of Glamour Dust on the hats!! The DP on the 1st card are by Anna Griffin & the papers on the 2nd card are DCVW. I stamped the top half of the 2nd card with the sentiment stamp to create my own background.

That's my first post for the day - might be back later!!

Thanks for popping by.

Have a lovely day.

  1. Creative Card Crew - Recipe: 2 Papers, 3 Flowers, 2 Brads, 1 Button & 1 Ribbon
  2. MAWTT - A Sketch Challenge
  3. Creative Inspirations - Animals The image is a digi stamp from Dustin Pike coloured with copics. The DP were a bargain from Hobbycraft (don't often get one from there do you? lol) by K&Co. I have shown a close up so that you can see the 2 brads - they are in the knots of the bowtie & the parcel bow!!! The ribbon & button are from my stash and the flowers are Petaloo.

Have a good evening.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge Project

I thought it was about time I got my act together and supported the Trimcraft C.R.A.F.T challenge blog. This challenge blog has been created and is supported by fellow 'Trimmies'. Do pop over and take a look - you don't have to be a member of Trimcraft to take part.
The theme this week is a delicious colour combo of Brown & Pink - yummy!!!
Here is my entry - I have used a template from the 'Cutting Cafe' to create a fab notelet holder - complete with little notelets made using Nesties Labels 1.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by.

Have a great day.

Allsorts - Snowflakes in September

This week it was Kirsten's choice for the Allsorts challenge and she chose the fab theme of
'Snowflakes in September'
I think the DT has produced some of their best projects so far with this challenge - please do go and have a little look at their fantastic work.
Also get your project in - you might even get lucky and win GDT spot for the whole of October!
Here is my DT project:

I have used DCVW DP with some added 'bling' to the snowflake centres.

The snowflake in the centre started as a couple of naked chipboard shapes that I coloured with a metallic ink and added a touch of Stickles. I then mounted it onto some cardstock that I have embossed with the Cuttlebug 'swirls' folder - I inked the folder with the same metallic ink before I added the cardstock and then embossed it and added a bit more 'bling'!!!

The sentiments have been taken from one of the text papers from the set by DCVW.

Don't forget to pop over and see who won Emma's sketch challenge and was picked as the Top5.

Got a busy day today - chiropractor this morning and my son's birthday bash later today then out for tea with lots of hyper 10 - 11 year old boys - wish me luck lol!!!!

Have a great day.

Thanks for popping over.

Multi Challenges

This is my project for today that I am entering into the following challenges:

  1. Sketch & Stash - a sketch challenge and to use new, never used or neglected stash - I have used CCSR neglected papers here.
  2. Pollycraft Challenge - Black, White & other colour - I have used a pinky/red.
  3. Forever Friends - Again it's Black, White & 1 other colour and must use something from the FF range - I decided to paper piece the balloon, add a flower brad and leave the stamped image B&W.
  4. Papertake Weekly - Faking It - I have used fake flowers - cut out from the DP.
  5. And finally - Pile it On - Another Black, White & 1 other colour challenge and to enter more than 1 challenge - it certainly fits that one!!!
Now all I have to do is go and "tidy up" my workroom lol!!!
Back tomorrow morning with my DT project for Allsorts - have you got your entry in for this week?
Thanks for popping over.
Enjoy your evening whatever you're doing.

Copics meet Promarkers!!!

Here is a little something I created at the weekend to hold my Copics & Promarkers.
It started life as a tub of mini 'Rocky Road' cakes from a well known supermarket beginning with the letter 'T', but after giving it a coat of Aidrondack paint in pale pink & then a dab or two of alcohol inks and some finishing touches of ribbons & flowers - this is the end result:

I think I'm quite pleased with it!

Hope you are having a great day.

Thanks for popping by.

My 99p bargain stamp!!

Good morning peeps.
I couldn't resist this little beauty as it was only 99p!!!! What a bargain. I enjoyed stamping it up and creating this project for this week's Papertake Weekly challenge so much that I had to do it again - with a slight difference to the layout.
So this is the entry for Papertake Weekly (A sketch challenge this week)
And this is just because!!
Hope you are having a great weekend.

Allsorts Challenge #18

Good morning - we have a lovely sunny start to the day here in Gloucestershire - seems daft to be posting this card - given the theme I used lol!!!!
Apologies for it being my favourite snowman - again!!!!
The challenge this week at Allsorts was picked by Emma - a fab sketch, with a colour combo of your choice.
Here is my take on it:

I embossed the circle (cut using a nestie) with the Cuttlebug 'dots' folder (after I had stamped and coloured the image) as I thought it would look like snow balls!! I coloured around the edges with chalks for a delicate finish. The snowman's hat has been finished with Beadazzles - first time I have used this product - it's fab. The papers are K&Co as are the two smaller snowflake embellishments. The larger one is by Dovecraft. Not sure about the ribbon - might take it off - what do you think?

Anyway, as the sun is out and the sky is blue I might get out and enjoy it while it's there.

Have a great weekend.

Two Challenge Card

Good evening everyone.
Just a quickie post tonight - really tired lol!!
This card is my entry for the following fab challenges:

1. Sunday Sketch & Stamp - A sketch challenge
I flipped the sketch.
2. Winter Wonderland - Frosty the Snowman theme
I stamped the image and then masked it off and stamped again - twice, to create a little row of cute snowmen.
I used my SLICE to create some snowflake embellishments - also used some snowflake brads. I really should use the SLICE more often than I currently do!
Thanks for popping over.

A Great Colour Combo

The challenge over at Creative Card Crew this week is a colour theme of 'Pink, Black & White' - I love this combo. I combined this challenge with the sketch challenge at Friday Sketchers
(I flipped it) and this is what I have come up with:

This is another card for my son's girlfriend's birthday later this month - she is really girlie so I think she'll like it!

Thanks for popping over.
