PTW - And it's not a Christmas card!!!

Good evening. Quick post to enter this card that I have made for my cousin's birthday in the Papertake Weekly sketch challenge.

Saturday, 19 December 2009

Good morning . This week it's my turn to choose the theme for the Allsorts challenge and I challenge you to make anything but a card. The DT have come up with some beautiful, inspirational projects and I can't wait to see what you and your creative juices come up with too.
We have a great sponsor this week in A Passion for Stamps and Ruth is offering 1 lucky winner, picked by the opportunity to win these beautiful stamps:

I thought I would take the opportunity to make a few last minute Christmas gifts and I found a really simple recipe for Sugar Body Scrubs:

  1. 400g Granulated Sugar
  2. 150ml Sunflower Oil
  3. A little powdered food colouring (available from cake-making shops)
  4. 6-8 drops of Essential Oils (I made Lavender, Lemon & Orange scrubs)

  1. Mix the food colouring into the sugar - you only need a light colour change at this stage as it will darken when you add the oil.
  2. Add the Sunflower Oil and mix together well.
  3. Add the drops of Essential Oils
  4. It should sort of 'clump' together and fall off the spoon in lumps.
  5. Spoon scrub into a min. 400ml airtight jar (I purchased mine from Ikea for 89p)
  6. Decorate jar as required.

Would love to know if you decide to give this a try and what you think of it. I was impressed with how easy it was - but I think it makes a lovely gift - don't you?

Hope you have a great weekend.

A 'Gorjuss' Diary

Good evening. Just a quick post this evening to show my entry for the challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week which was a lovely sketch.
I decided to use the sketch to make a diary for my son's girlfriend for Christmas.
I used some mount board for the base of the covers - the DP's are K&Co the Gorjuss image is 'Flower Girl' coloured with Copics, cut out and mounted onto oval nesties that I stamped around the edge.
I cut the '2010' using the Slice, inked the edges and added some bling. Flowers and branch - Woodware punches.
I am also entering this into the Copic colour challenge for this week.
Also wanted to share these pictures with you

No, your eyes do not deceive you - that really is a kitten in the Christmas tree!!! Now I knew that Pickle would be intrigued by the tree and all that glistens on it -and I thought that she would try to 'play' with the baubles around the bottom of it - but I never thought for 1 minute that she would actually climb into the middle of it!!!! Looks like we are going to be busy playing chase all holidays lol!!!

Thanks for popping by. Have a good evening.

Allsorts Weeks 30

Welcome to another new challenge at Allsorts , and this week it is Gro's turn to set the challenge. Gro wants to see the colour of advent - PURPLE - some where on your project. . . . This week we are sponsored by Alison from Stretch and Bubbles. Alison is a talented artist who has recently started designing her own digital stamps and is offering one very lucky winner their own choice of four digi images from her new store.

The Design Team were provided with images by Alison to use on their projects this week, so please do go check out their blogs to see the beautiful work they have done.

I decided to create a large gift box to fill with little stocking fillers for my son's girlfriend - rather than wrap them all up individually - lol!!!

Don't forget to check the Allsorts blog to see who Lisa picked as her Top5 and who the lucky winner was of the Digisparkle prize.

Thanks for popping over. Hope you have a stress free weekend - even if you are Christmas shopping!!!

I would especially like to thank a really lovely lady 'Cheryl' who without fail has left a comment on every project I have posted - your support is truly wonderful and I am very grateful - big heartfelt thanks hun.
