The Pink Elephant Challenge

Good evening - quick post for now - been busy all day and still got lots to do!!!

This is my take on the sketch challenge over at TPE this week.

I have used my new Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit stamp - bought it to make a card for Jack's birthday (my youngest son - mad on football!!!). I stamped the image onto a nestie shape and inked the edges with Distress Ink - the image has been coloured with Copics & Sakura pens. I then matted it onto co-ordinating cardstock that I had put through my Big shot using the 'Spotty' Cuttlebug embossing folder. The DP were a purchase from Create & Craft a little while ago. Finishing touches are the star bling form my stash.
Off to do some (housework) now.
Have a good evening.
Thanks for popping by.

A Christmas Tree decoration - Winter Wonderland

This week over at Winter Wonderland challenge blog the challenge was not to create a card but to create a christmas tree decoration. I have made this 'bauble' for the challenge.

Here are the instructions:

  1. I used one of the Christmas 'Sensentional Circle' stamps from Creative Expressions.
  2. Stamp and emboss 20 circle images and then cut out - I used one of the standard nestie circles - just the perfect size!
  3. Decorate if you like with glitter, colouring - I have just kept mine plain with gold embossing powder.
  4. Score down the tabs around the triangle.
  5. Glue 5 of the circles together (tab to tab) for the top - don't forget to attach the ribbon hanger before glueing final tabs together and 5 for the bottom.
  6. Glue the remaining circles together to form a band.
  7. Glue the top and bottom to the band to form the complete shape.

It sounds a lot more complicated than it really is to do - honestly!!!

Thanks for popping over.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge & Cupcake Challenge

They have a great colour challenge over at C.R.A.F.T challenge blog this week and it fits beautifully with a sample card I had to make using a stamp from one of the new Stylish Christmas stamp plates from Creative Expressions and some of their 'Fancy Pants' christmas papers & rub-ons. before stamping the image I spritzed the background mat with Cosmic Shimmer misters in Peacock Green & Silver then stamped the reindeer with 'Perfect Medium' and dusted over with Seasonal Silver Cosmic Shimmer mica powder to create a shadow and then offset & restamped the image with Archival Black & embossing with clear embossing powder. I finished the card off with some rhinestone bling from my stash. I am also entering this card in the Cupcake Craft Challenge - the theme this week is to make a Christmas Card.

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Blossoms & Butterflies

This is my entry for the Cupcake Craft Challenge of 'Blossoms & Butterflies' this week.

I stamped a swirl image onto black pearl card and embossing with Cosmic Shimmer ultra thick embossing powder in Blue Raspberry - it's delicious!!!!! I punched out some tiny flowers using pink pearl card and added some gem stones to the centre and then placed these onto the swirls. The butterfly was heat stamped onto Cosmic Shimmer film. I also created a swirl background mat using a different swirl stamp and embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine metallic embossing powder. I have left the top left corner empty - ready to personalise as necessary.

Having a great crafty weekend so far.

Hope you are enjoying yours.

Forever Friends Challenge & Papertake Weekly

I thought I would combine this challenge with the Sketch Challenge at Papertake Weekly

This my take on the sketch and the colour scheme - I just love the colours together - don't you?

I also thought it would be perfect to use one of the new Spellbinders Pendant dies - this one is the Fleur De Lys.

Another new stamp plate!!

The theme this week over at Winter Wonderland is 'Santa Claus is coming to Town'
Here is my entry
I created this card from just a couple of the images from another new Christmas A5 stamp plate from Creative Expressions. I started by creating the background using a circle mask for the moon and then blending Faded Jeans & Dusty Concorde distress inks all over the card. I heat dried the card and then spritzed all over with Purple Violet & Silver Cosmic Shimmer misters. I then removed the mask and stamped the Santa & Sleigh shadow image across the 'moon' and then built up a forest of christmas trees in the foreground. I added a sentiment that had been stamped and embossed using Silver Shine Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder. Finally I matted and layered the image onto co-ordinating cardstock.

Creative Card Crew Challenge Card

Good moring everyone - hope you are having a great weekend.

Yesterday I spent sometime catching up on some blogging and saw that the challenge this week over on the Creative Card Crew blog is 'create a scene'. Perfect, I thought as I had just picked up the latest 'Create a Scene' stamp plate by Sheena Douglass for Creative Expressions from work on Wednesday and had some samples to do. So here is my entry for the challenge.

I used just 1 colour throughout - Broken China distress ink by Ranger - I stamped the row of small trees in the background first and 'dragged' out the ink to create shadow & hills, then I stamped the horse & carriage and again dragged out the ink to both colour & create shadow. Then the larger christmas trees were stamped in the foreground and again ink dragged out to create shadow. I then added some glitter to the foreground and to the large tress. I also blended some of the ink around the edges of the card using a blending tool and some Cut & Dry foam. Finally the card was then mat & layered onto co-ordinating pearl cardstock.

Thanks for popping by.

Enjoy your day.

What a beautiful image!!

I have been really naughty today - I visited a gorgeous craft shop in Cricklade and they had some beautiful Sarah Kay stamps in - so I had to buy some!!! Then I decided that maybe I should (for research purposes lol!!!!) have some Promarkers so I bought 2 sets of them as well.

Even though I am very tired I just had to ink up one of my new stamps and put together a card for Friday Sketchers challenge. Hope you like it.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

Well I couldn't let the weekend end without a traditional 'cutsie' card now could I lol!!!
This my entry for the Secret Crafter challenge #40 - a sketch challenge.
I love this DP - by K&Co and the adorable flower buttons from a lovely little craft shop I visited (as part of my job) in Burnham on Sea this week. The image was from the candy that I won from Francesca - thank you it's beautiful and I thought it suited the delicate colours of the DP perfectly.

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Black & White

Good afternoon - hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Mine's been great - managed to get another challenge card done today. This one is for the 'black & white' colour challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge blog. Once again, I decided to try out another different design to the 'cutsie/girlie' theme and I have used a stamp plate from Creative Expressions called 'create a scene' - this one is the pub design. All the images have been stamped using ranger Archival black ink and then embossed using Cosmic Shimmer clear embossing powder. I then framed the design and matted onto a large white base card.

Thanks for taking the time to pop by.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge

The challenge this week over at C.R.A.F.T challenge blog is to create something for a special age/anniversary i.e something number specific. This suited me down to the ground as I had a 50th birthday card to make for my brother-in-law.
First I stamped the 'diamond' background stamp onto navy cardstock with perfect medium clear ink pad and then dusted over with Cosmic Shimmer mica pigment powder - Pewter Grey. I then stamped the 'clock collage stamp' onto black cardstock with perfect medium clear and dusted with Pale Gold, Red Bronze & Midnight Blue Cosmic Shimmer mica pigments. I spritzed another piece of black cardstock with Cosmic Shimmer misters in Rich Gold & Purple Violet and then stamped the clock face three times with perfect medium clear ink pad and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold metallic embossing powder. I mounted these onto gold mirror board and then mounted them onto the background card and then mounted onto the base card. I added the all important 50th numbers - from a kit from QVC and finished with a Happy Birthday sentiment.
Thanks for popping by - all comments are very welcome.
Have a great day.

Mojo Monday #94 Challenge

I thought I would try something a little different for this challenge and I decided to create my own background papers instead of using DP. First I used Worn Lipstick & Antique Linen distress inks by Ranger to colour the base card. I used the same inks and technique to cover the long strip of card going across the centre and then I stamped a 'net' effect stamp along the whole strip using Brushed Corduroy distress ink by Ranger. I also used the distress inks to colour the larger rectangle and then I spritzed it with Cosmic Shimmer True Gold spray mister. I stamped a Creative Expression collage stamp onto the smaller rectangle with Perfect medium clear ink and then dusted it with Cosmic Shimmer metallic mica pigments.

Thanks for popping by.
